Denominational Partners
Warren Wilson Presbyterian Church is part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), which enables us to extend our ministry beyond the Swannanoa Valley and Asheville. The list below describes some of the groups with which we work in ministry.
Presbytery of Western North Carolina
The mission of our Presbytery is to strengthen congregations to be faithful and vital witnesses to Jesus Christ. We are located in Morganton, NC at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We have 94 congregations with over 13,000 members. We span to the east to Gastonia, north to Banner Elk and west to the Tennessee line.
Earth Care Congregations
To become certified as Earth Care Congregations, churches take the Earth Care Pledge and complete activities and projects in the fields of worship, education, facilities, and outreach.
Presbyterian Disaster Agency (PDA)
The PDA provides our denominations response to disasters throughout the world. It receives support from our operating budget, the One Great Hour of Sharing, and special appeals when disasters occur.
Presbyterian Heritage Center
The Presbyterian Heritage Center (PHC) is an independent non-profit organization supported by individuals, churches and foundations. The PHC conducts a learning center, research library, changing museum exhibits and online web site.

Bounty and Soul
Creates healthier communities by providing fresh healthy food, nutrition literacy, and health & wellness resources.

Donald S. Collins Early Learning Center
The Collins Center was founded by Church Women United in 1970 to service working families in the Swannanoa Valley. It is a five-star Child Care Center with a developmentally appropriate, play based curriculum providing education and care for children ages six weeks to kindergarten since 1970.

Habitat for Humanity
Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity was the first Habitat affiliate in North Carolina. Through Habitat homeownership and home repair programs, more than 2,100 adults and children in Buncombe County have achieved the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future. They build around 15 new houses a year, and now repair around 70 houses a year which enables people to stay in them. In teams of three or four, members of our congregation sign up for work shifts on the Faith Build House in the spring and/or fall.

Ministry of Hope
The Ministry of Hope is a community-funded chaplaincy program which raises funds to employ on-site chaplains at Western Correctional Center for Women (WCCW) in Swannanoa, NC. Our chaplains conduct religious services in the center’s chapel and provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to the inmates.

Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry
SVCM is a team of committed staff, volunteers, churches, and community partners working together to meet the varied needs of our neighbors in the Swannanoa Valley with food, clothing, direct financial assistance, housing, and community resource navigation.

Veterans Restoration Quarters
Once a month a team from the church helps prepare and serve lunch at this housing facility for homeless veterans. It is run by ABCCM (above).

ABCCM (Veterans Restoration Quarters)
VRQ creates a principle-based environment and comprehensive residential program that addresses every area of restoration in the life of a homeless veteran.
Asheville Poverty Initiative
Dismantling stereotypes, reducing fear, and empowering hope through telling stories across socio-economic difference. We envision a beloved community that celebrates mutuality, abundance, and justice.
BeLoved Community
Bringing people together from all walks of life to create home, healthy, equity, and opportunity for all in our mountain home. We strengthen the fabric of our community by celebrating and struggling alongside our friends and neighbors, moving towards solutions that build upon the assets we see all around us.
Black Mountain Home for Children
Serves abused, abandoned, and neglected children from throughout Western North Carolina. The Home has expanded its original residential care services to also include family foster care, transitional living for teens, and independent living for youth pursuing an education beyond high school.

Together, we connect, share, and celebrate nutritious food, education, and community.
Christians for a United Community
Helping our churches and community unite to dismantle the root causes of racism and disparity.
Creation Care Alliance
The Creation Care Alliance of Western North Carolina (CCAWNC) is a network of people of faith and congregations who have united around a moral and spiritual call to preserve the integrity, beauty and health of God’s creation.
Habitat for Humanity

Helpmate
We work with our community to eliminate abuse and fear by providing safety, shelter, and support for victims/survivors of intimate partner domestic violence.
Homeward Bound
Preventing and ending homelessness in our community through permanent housing and support.
Pisgah Legal Services
Pisgah Legal Services seeks to pursue justice by providing legal assistance and advocacy to help low-income people in Western North Carolina meet their basic needs and improve their lives.
Presbyterian Heritage Center
An educational organization operating as an innovative and interactive learning center and research facility both onsite and online. We collect and preserve records and materials of all Presbyterian & Reformed Church denominations.
Read to Succeed
Read to Succeed Asheville/Buncombe advocates for children’s literacy through kindergarten-readiness programming with children birth to five-years old, one-to-one tutoring with K-3rd grad students, and community-powered literacy programming with families and community partners.
Swannanoa Valley MLK
Thier mission is to present the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in ways that bring knowledge and awareness to people in the communities served by the corporation and to celebrate and recognize the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday with an annual public event. SVMLK has established a monetary fund to be used for educational projects or grants throughout the schools in Swannanoa Valley, and to be used to benefit individual students worthy of scholarship or grant assistance
Verner Center
Provides high quality, affordable early care and education to over 300 children – birth to five years old – throughout Buncombe County, North Carolina. Through holistic learning environments, we strive to help build a community where every child and family has the opportunity to thrive.
