Announcements for May 17, 2026

WELCOME VISITORS If you are worshiping here for the first time today, welcome! We are glad to have you with us. Please fill out a visitor information card, located on the right as you enter the chapel, and place it in the offering plate.

OFFERING Plates are just inside the doors to the chapel or scan the QR code on the back of this bulletin. Our gifts take many forms: open-hearted presence here, voices lifted in song, the prayers that rise in us, the material gifts we share with neighbors, and our willingness to live in a world as allies and advocates for those whose needs are overlooked. The monies we bring symbolize the offering of our lives in all circumstances. A separate labeled basket is available each week to receive Our Daily Change offerings.

COMMUNITY JOYS AND CONCERNS: If you would like to add or update a prayer request, please contact the church office.

We celebrate: Warren Wilson College graduates! Our work crew this year: Eloise Hill and Isabella Love

NEWSLETTER DEADLINE Our next newsletter will be covering the summer, especially June through the start of the next school year.  If you have any suggestions or submissions please get them to Andrew in the church office by May 26.

PERSONNEL REVIEW TEAM Each year WWPC completes a review of its staff – Andrew and Ted for 2026 since Jess has just joined us. The Administration Ministry Team named Brent Roberts, Derron Daugherty, and Jim Storey as the action team to prepare this year’s annual review. To complete its work, the team needs input from the entire congregation. Please share with the team your words of praise for the work our staff have done in the past year and your suggestions as to how we can improve our ministry in the future. You may send your responses to Jim Storey by email at jstorey57@gmail.com, by mail to the church office, or by delivery to the AMT mailbox in the office. Please submit your responses to the team before the end of May so it can complete its report for the Session in a timely matter.

GRADUATING INTERNATIONAL STUDENT NEEDS TEMPORARY HOUSING The Church College Relations team was recently approached about an opportunity for our congregation to step up and help some international students awaiting work permits, which are forthcoming, but who need temporary housing. One of the students has already graciously received housing from one of our team members (HOORAY!), but we are still seeking housing for David, a student from Nigeria. Please see further information in the request below. The need is imminent, so the sooner you could reach out to Taelyn or Joel, the better!

David, a Nigerian student who just graduated from WWC needs temporary housing for the early summer before he begins his PhD studies. David comes highly recommended from the college administrators and needs a space from May 20th (this WEDNESDAY!) through July 1st. If anyone has a spare bedroom that would be available, please contact Taelyn Reid, the Assistant Director for Community and Global Engagement (treid@warren-wilson.edu) or Joel Bluml, WWC Vice President for Student Engagement (jbluml@warren-wilson.edu), ASAP!
