WELCOME STUDENTS WORSHIP & POTLUCK SEPT 8! Mark your calendars to be here next Sunday, September 8, as Warren Wilson College students lead us in worship coordinated by the college’s Spiritual Life Crew and Chaplain Shannon Spencer. We hope to host such services twice a year. Following worship there will be a potluck in the Fellowship Hall to welcome the students! Please bring 1-2 dishes to share. The students love extras! Beverages will be provided by the Congregational Life Team.

We celebrate: the way this community pulls together and pulls off whatever needs to be accomplished: thanks to Pat Hardy, Sally Broughton, Beth Meriwether, and John LaMotte for joining forces last Sunday with Ted and the bell ensemble (led by Natalie Daugherty) to lead us in worship ⸰ the birth of Theodore Mouzinho Torrence (Theo), who arrived 6 weeks early and will need a few weeks in the NICU, but is making good progress. First-time grandparents, Lee and Margaret, are thrilled ⸰ our Congregational Life Team: Janice Collins, Vicki Collins, Mary Craig, Donna Eagle Joslin, Sarah Anne Eller, Pat Levi, Sharon Lytle, and their fearless leader, Susan Daugherty, for their continued excellent work: most recently the memorial reception on August 17 ⸰ Jim Storey, with help from Janice Collins and Andrew Tripp, for putting up the pride flag and the welcome banner ⸰ Andrew Tripp’s move to permanent status as our Church Administrator, effective today!

CHOIR RESUMES The choir invites folks who can carry a tune to give Chapel Choir a try. 7:00 Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, September 4 & 11. Service singing begins Sunday, September 15. HANDBELLS STARTING SOON The handbell choir is resuming rehearsal on Wednesdays at 6:00 with plans to enrich worship through a larger part of the liturgical year in celebration of the refurbishments completed last year. BREAKING NEWS FOR OUR CIRCLE OF WELCOME! We have just received word that Lutheran Services has rented a house near the Warren Wilson campus, in order to house a refugee family that is likely to arrive by September 15! Vicki Collins will be arriving back in town on Tuesday (9/2), just in time for training to take place. If you’d like to support this effort, please call or email Vicki. There are many different ways to contribute to this project.
CANCER-SUPPORT MINISTRY, OCT 6, GRACE COVENANT If you would like to learn more about the possibility of starting a cancer-support ministry at WWPC, you are invited to attend this dinner (5:30-8:30 on Oct. 6) at Grace Covenant in Asheville. Susan Mims, the President and CEO of Dogwood Health Trust will be speaking. Susan is a dynamic speaker and has personal experience as a patient with cancer. Anne Turnage, of GCPC, is our contact for more information. Anne would like to know in advance who might

HABITAT VOLUNTEER DAYS IN OCTOBER We have volunteer dates reserved to help with Habitat House of Faith #4 in Arden on Oct. 19, 25, and 26. No previous experience or special skills are needed, only a willingness to help. Other dates are available to if that would be better for you.
WELCOME BACK, OLIVIA Our Student Work Crew Member is back! Olivia Crescitelli has come back for her Senior Year at WWC and her third year as our student worker. She has already jumped right back in where she left off, and we’re so glad to have her!
